Elevating Sterilization Practices for Your Safety

Sterilisation – What is it? At Nundah Central Dental, we go above and beyond to ensure the utmost safety for our patients. Sterilisation is the process by which all bacteria, viruses, fungi, and spores are entirely eradicated. In our dental setting, where precision is paramount, our instruments, including mouth mirrors and tweezers, must be sterile for each use. To achieve this, we employ a sophisticated and effective system, utilising state-of-the-art autoclaves – the HäTmed Q50 B and Sirona DAC Professional.

Advanced Monitoring for Your Safety

Advanced Monitoring for Your Safety

Our infection control program is comprehensive, monitoring every stage of the sterilisation process. From the rinsing, cleaning, and disinfecting of instruments to the meticulous inspection and bagging for sterilisation, we leave no detail unchecked. Our daily use of the HäTmed Q50 B and Sirona DAC Professional autoclaves is closely monitored, with regular maintenance conducted by technicians every six months and annual validations to ensure optimal functionality.

Rigorous Sterilization Testing

Rigorous Sterilization Testing

To ensure the efficacy of our sterilisation processes, we employ a series of rigorous tests, including the Vacuum Leak Test, Bowie Dick Test, and the use of Physical Indicators. These tests, along with Self-sealing pouches and Chemical indicators, provide visual confirmation of correct sterilisation conditions within the autoclave chamber, assuring you of the sterility of our equipment.

Validation and Biological Indicators

Validation and Biological Indicators

Annually, our sterilisers undergo a comprehensive validation by qualified technicians. Biological indicators are then employed, testing all variables of the sterilisation process to confirm the elimination of resistant spores. Only after a series of incubation cycles and effective sterilisation are confirmed do we consider the biological test passed.

Additional Measures for Effective Infection Control

Beyond sterilisation, our commitment to infection control extends to measures like damp dusting, flushing suction systems, regular glove changes, single-patient use for endodontic files, and thorough disinfection on all touched surfaces.

Batch Control Identification (BCI)

For medico-legal reasons and to ensure consistent aseptic practices, we implement Batch Control Identification (BCI). Each pouch containing sterile equipment is barcoded, allowing us to track its journey from sterilisation to use. This meticulous tracking system ensures accountability and adherence to our high standards.
