A Few Of The Confident Smiles We’ve Helped Create

What is a dental emergency?

A dental emergency refers to any urgent dental problem that requires immediate attention to alleviate pain, stop bleeding, or save a tooth. This can include a range of situations, such as severe toothache, knocked-out teeth, broken or cracked teeth, abscesses, and infections. It’s crucial to seek prompt dental care in these cases to prevent further complications or long-term damage. Dental emergencies can be varied and often require an extensive range of treatments, from simple pain relief to more complex procedures like root canals or oral surgery. The key is to act quickly and consult a dentist as soon as possible.

What are dental crowns?

Dental crowns are custom-made restorations designed to cover and strengthen damaged or decayed teeth. They come in various materials like porcelain, ceramic, and metal alloys, chosen based on factors like tooth location and aesthetics. The crown fitting process usually involves two dentist visits: first, the tooth is prepared, and an impression is taken, and in the second visit, the permanent crown is adjusted and cemented in place.

These crowns have multiple functions: they protect weak teeth, restore broken ones, support large fillings, secure dental bridges, conceal misshapen or discoloured teeth, and cap dental implants. They are durable but require proper oral care and regular dental checkups, similar to natural teeth.

How long does root canal therapy take?

Root canal therapy typically requires one to three visits, each lasting about 90 minutes, depending on the complexity of the tooth and the severity of the infection. The procedure involves removing infected pulp, cleaning and disinfecting the inner chambers of the tooth, and then filling and sealing it. The duration can vary based on individual cases and the need for additional restorative work, such as placing a crown on the treated tooth.

What payment options are available at your dental practice?

To facilitate affordable treatment options, our clinic provides a variety of payment methods. These options include cash, credit card, Zip, HICAPS, Afterpay, Humm, Denticare, and AccessMySuper, ensuring flexibility and convenience to suit our patients’ diverse financial needs.

Note: Any surgical or invasive procedure carries risks. Before proceeding, you should seek a second opinion from an appropriately qualified health practitioner.
